In April 2023, Dr. Jordan received the Outstanding Dissertation in Learning Technologies Award from the Department of Learning Sciences, College of Education & Human Development at GSU. The title of her dissertation was Digital Tales from the Cutting-Room Floor: Learning How to Design Instruction from Latinas, Afro-Latinas, and Black Women in Tech. As an outcome of her dissertation work and product of Jordan Nuance LLC, Dr. Jordan launched Black-Liberation.Tech, an Open Educational Resource (OER). This platform uses stories to teach girls and women about digital literacies, technology skills, and career pathways while offering academic, career, and prompt engineering coaching.

Our MissionJordan Nuance LLC’s mission is to empower Latinas, Afro-Latinas, and Black women and girls to see themselves fully represented in the technology landscape, to gain the tools they need for success, and to confidently lead their own academic and career journeys. We pursue this mission by partnering with individuals, schools, libraries, and organizations to expand access to knowledge, skills, and opportunities. Our work is designed to remove barriers—whether resource constraints, time limitations, or complex challenges—and to ensure that every learner feels supported and capable of navigating their journeys. At the heart of our mission is the drive to democratize access to technology and foster spaces where learning is collaborative, culturally relevant, and community-centered. In doing so, we empower Latinas, Afro-Latinas, and Black women and girls not only to thrive in the digital world but also to shape it with their voices, talents, and leadership. |
Our PhilosophyAt Jordan Nuance LLC, our philosophy is rooted in empowerment—of individuals and communities. We are especially committed to Latinas, Afro-Latinas, and Black women and girls, advancing digital literacy, AI learning, and career growth with cultural relevance and equity at the center of every interaction. We believe that true learning is not a one-way transaction but a shared journey. Our approach fosters spaces where participants see themselves represented in technology, gain essential skills, and grow in confidence to lead their academic and career paths. Through bilingual, community-centered, and practical resources, we nurture a sense of belonging and co-create knowledge that reflects lived realities. Central to our vision is the idea of “AI as an assistant” or “personal tutor”—a supportive guide that helps learners ask sharper questions, ease cognitive load, and deepen their understanding. In this way, AI becomes a tool for collaboration, enabling each person to navigate their unique academic and professional journey with clarity, courage, and community support. |
