Dr. Renée Jordan is an educator with a broad range of gifts, talents, specialties, and knowledge. She continues to refine her skills through professional development and diverse research experiences. Renée earned a Ph.D. in Instructional Technology with a concentration in Instructional Design from the Department of Learning Sciences in the College of Education and Human Development at Georgia State University. She also earned a Master of Public Policy with a concentration in Social Policy-Education Policy-from the Andrew Young School of Policy Studies at GSU, Master of Education with a concentration in Secondary Education-Curriculum Specialist-from Bowie State University, and Bachelor of Arts in Biology from Hood College. To remain relevant to those with whom she works with as an instructor and researcher, Renée maintains state teaching certifications for Maryland and Georgia.
Renée taught high school Biology for seven years and trained her fellow teachers on the use and integration of technology. She continued along this path at an HBCU where she served as the Instructional Technology Coordinator for three years. After 5 years of Title III grant administration as an Assistant Director, Renée is now the Associate Director for the Center for Broadening Participation in Computing at the HBCU. This new role not only allows her to engage her research interests but also her expertise as an educator, grant administrator, and instructional technologist & designer.

Renée is from Largo, a suburban town of Washington, DC, located in Prince George's County, Maryland. Her family includes her Dad, one sister, six brothers, many in-laws, and far more nieces than nephews. Her mom passed away in September of 2015.
Renée sang in the choirs of Refreshing Spring Church of God in Christ in Riverdale, Maryland for 25 years before moving to Atlanta, Georgia.
